(Albuquerque) The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator determined today that bones found near Magdalena are not human.
Instead, the bones are from a sheep.
The remains were found last week near Water Canyon, about half way between Magdalena and Socorro. According to investigators in Socorro County, the remains were found with a tarp and clothing belonging to a small woman or a girl.
Socorro County District Attorney stated over the weekend that the bones may be the remains of Girly Chew Hossencofft.
